Shooting Stars

The Shooting Stars Program is designed for the youngest DPST skiers and is not a beginner skiing program. All Shooting Star Athletes are independent skiers with at least one season of skiing and/or ski lessons. Skiers must be able to ski green runs and beginner blue terrain. Shooting Star Athletes must be able to follow and listen to instructions. 

The Shooting Stars program provides our athletes an educational and physical opportunity to gain solid fundamental skiing skills in a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment. Team building, fun, skill development, and exploration are the pillars of the Shooting Stars program. Small groups with energetic, educated, and involved Coaches provide a learning environment that fosters lifelong learning. The goal of the Shooting Stars is to graduate athletes into the Mighty Mite Program.

Mighty Mites

The Mighty Mites Program focuses on skiing fundamentals and building a love for the sport.   Mighty Mites is NOT a beginner skiing program. The Mighty Mites will introduce athletes to the skills used in ski racing and free skiing with smaller groups divided by ability and developmental levels to best serve our athletes. We encourage the athlete's progression of skills to develop strong, well-balanced, compassionate, and caring individuals with a passion for skiing. 

Development (Devo) All Mountain

The Devo All Mountain Team is designed for graduating Mighty Mites and athletes interested in developing the basic All Mountain skiing skills, fundamentals & skier etiquette. These skills will be based around Big Mountain, Freestyle and Free Skiing disciplines. Boundary to boundary, top to bottom, and everything in-between skiing will be the theme. This will be accomplished by creating a positive and supportive Team atmosphere of adventure, safety, exploration & respect which will develop decision-making skills. Safety is a primary concern with this Team and is included in daily programing. The goal of this Team is develop the All Mountain Skills necessary to graduate/transition into the Comp/Travel All Mountain Team.

All Mountain

The All Mountain Team is a Travel/Freeride program is available to skiers ages 10 to 15. *The Head Coach must pre-approve all U12 (ages 10 and 11) athletes on this Team. Athletes ski at Diamond Peak on Saturday and travel on Sunday’s to other mountains if desired. Our schedule adjusted throughout the season based on weather, holidays and events. The Team Van and carpooling is used to transport athletes to advanced and varied terrain throughout the Tahoe basin.  Athletes can expect to gain knowledge in many areas including general alpine skiing skills, off piste, avalanche training, equipment care and introduction to tuning, Freeride ski technique and tactics, technical fundamentals, aerial skills, activation and warmup, intro to nutrition, and all-mountain safety.

U Teams

The U Teams consist of U8/10 group, U12 group, U14 group and a U16 Group. Each age group trains separately and with designated coaching staffs. The U Teams will train at Diamond Peak and race in Tahoe Race Series and Far West ski races. 

High School Training Group (HTG)

The High School Training Group has been designed to encourage athletes who would like to compete at the high school level and are unable to commit to a full-time training schedule. The group will focus on skill development through focused free skiing and gate training in a more relaxed environment than a full-time program.

Thursday Drop-In

Why leave Incline to ski/train on Thursday?! Come ski/train with the Diamond Peak Ski Team on Thursday Afternoons Drop-Ins 1-4. Drop-into the proper age group and get some of the best coaching in Tahoe.
